Title:

Current Evidence on the Role of the Gut Microbiome in ADHD Pathophysiology and Therapeutic Implications

Objective:

To study the bidirectional relationship between the gut microbiome and the central nervous system- the microbiome-gut-brain-axis and how it is involved in diverse neuropsychiatric diseases in children and adults.

Results:

Supplementation of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG for 4 weeks prior to delivery and continued for 6 months after delivery- given to mother and child if breastfed- 17.1% of placebo group were diagnosed with ASD/ ADHD and non of the control group.
