Our Story

BB Kids was founded by Brooke Klower in 2025. 

Brooke Klower, founder of Balanced Beings, has worked with over 500 children during her four years of clinical experience. Brooke’s passion for working with the microbiome in children was sparked by a  personal experience. When her child, Indiana had a sudden onset of daily behavioural tantrums along with persistent diarrhoea, Brooke sought answers. After stool testing Brooke found Indiana had a parasite known as Dientamoeba fragilis. Following treatment, the parasite was successfully cleared — and with it, the diarrhoea and behavioural issues also resolved. This transformative journey ignited Brooke’s commitment to helping other families navigate similar challenges through microbiome-focused care.

Through Brooke’s work, she developed a deep passion for preventing microbiome related health conditions; after witnessing, week after week, just how central the microbiome is to a child’s overall health.
One day, she might see a child experiencing seizures triggered by bacterial overgrowths. The next, it would be a baby suffering from colic due to intestinal dysbiosis. Then, a case of nut allergies caused by bacteria producing elevated IgE levels. And another child repeatedly falling sick due to low levels of secretory IgA—an indicator of intestinal permeability, often referred to as "leaky gut."

With Brooke’s extensive background in testing and treating the microbiome, Brooke became increasingly frustrated by the lack of education and preventative products available for children. She saw firsthand that many people only considered the microbiome when dealing with constipation or stomach pain when in reality, it plays a central role in nearly every health condition.

This led Brooke to ask: Why aren’t there products designed to support and nourish the microbiome from the earliest stages of life?
In 2023, that question sparked a mission; to create a product that could transform the trajectory of a child's health. After two years of development and formulation, BB Kids was born: a powerful, preventative tool designed to support the microbiome and help thousands of children thrive every day. 

Through her extensive experience treating bacterial overgrowths, parasites, and heavy metal toxicity, Brooke has worked with a wide variety of ingredients. By applying her deep knowledge of the microbiome in clinical practice every day, she identified the most effective herbs and nutrients — which ultimately became the foundation for the two BB Kids product ranges.
