Microbiome on Allergies

Microbiome on Allergies

Title:

Host-microbiome interactions in atopic and allergic diseases

Objective:

To study the link between microbiome dysbiosis triggering the development of atopies or exacerbation of existing allergic conditions by addressing specific bacteria.

Results:

Colonisation by Staphylococcus aureus is associated with exacerbation of allergic skin conditions, especially atopic dermatitisS. aureus can disrupt the skin barrier by producing proteases, toxins, and biofilms, leading to increased allergen penetration and immune activation

Conclusion:

An imbalance of the human microbiome can lead to the breakdown of immune tolerance and contribute to allergy development
